Round table in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation
Today, Natalia Lykova, President of the Association of Mediators and Intermediaries of the Asia-Pacific Region, took part in a round table organized by the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building on the topic «Using mediation procedures in court proceedings: prospects and problems». The round table was attended by Ruslan Vladimirovich Smashnev (member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction), Roman E. Ryabyj (Director of the Department for the Development and Regulation of Legal Aid and Legal Services of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation), Irina V. Kirkor, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, and mediators, notaries, and judges from different regions of Russia.
The Association of Mediators and Intermediaries of the Asia-Pacific Region was invited to participate in the round table in connection with the active elaboration of amendments to the Federal Law «On Alternative Dispute Settlement Procedure with the participation of an Intermediary (Mediation Procedure)» and the introduction of its amendments to the new draft law on Mediation.
